Reject #7
Here's a Kid Eternity cover that does appear in the book, but the reference photo doesn't. I can't believe I went to all the trouble of building a model robot out of parts of old model kits and then photographed it to use as ref for the painting...

Reject #2
Trying to teach myself to paint between episodes of New Statesmen. Ballpoint pen, gouache and ink, 1988.
The Art Of Sean Phillips Rejects
Even though my art book has hundreds of pictures, there were still plenty more we didn't have space for. I'm going to be showing some of those over the next couple of months until the book comes out.
The first one here is part of a poster about Hitler's architect Albert Speer. It was done as a college project when I was 20.
Dr Marten's dyes and gouache on board, 1985.

New FATALE #16 cover
Had to paint a new cover for Fatale #16 because the previous one featured Nicholas and he doesn't appear in #16. We'll save that one for a future issue. This one will be out in a week or so I think, my comps arrived today.

The Art Of Sean Phillips exhibition
To tie in with my book The Art Of Sean Phillips coming in October from Dynamite, there will be a retrospective exhibition of my comic art, illustration and fine art at one of the venues of the Lakes International Comic Art Festival.
The exhibition opens two weeks before the Festival and continues until November. On the opening night of October 6th, there will also be a one-off screening of 12 Angry Men, for which I recently painted the DVD and Blu-ray cover for Criterion. The original painting for that cover will be in the exhibition along with over a hundred other pieces.
