CRIMINAL signing tour
To celebrate the launch of CRIMINAL, my new comic with Ed Brubaker from Icon in October, I'll be undertaking a short promotional tour of a few of the finer UK comic shops.
I'll be signing and sketching at the following stores...
Saturday 21st October at The Comic Guru, Cardiff
Tuesday 24th October at Nostalgia & Comics, Birmingham
Wednesday 25th October at Page 45, Nottingham
Thursday 26th October at OK Comics, Leeds
Saturday 28th October at Forbidden Planet, London
At each store I'll be giving away a page of original artwork from the first issue of CRIMINAL.
Of course I'll be more than happy to sign copies of my other books including the best selling Marvel Zombies.

New painting
Only did some thumbnails for CRIMINAL today, so nothing worth showing there. This evening I started a new painting, I've done about an hour on it so far. It's acrylic on board, about 24 X 30 inches.
Walking Dead
The only place to see the Criminal trailer in print is in the Walking Dead #30 out tomorrow from Image comics. Robert and Charlie kindly gave five pages of their great book over to us for some shameless plugging.

Kirby Kolours!
Haven't done any drawing today. Just took some photo ref and did some lettering for Seven Psychos, nothing worth showing there.
I did get around to colouring that Kirby piece I tried inking last month. The colouring was much more difficult than the inking. I tried to keep it really flat, any modelling just looked weird over those stylised forms.

JLA Classified
Received some more JLA pencils from Rick Leonardi today. I'll probably ink a few pages over the weekend and post some examples next week. I always enjoy inking his pencils. Everything is there but they're still quite loose, leaving a lot of room for my interpretation.

Intersections
Duncan Fegredo and I are producing an art book for Image to come out later this year. For over a year now we have been passing a sketchbook back and forth, each producing a spread inspired by the previous one the other person has produced. We've done drawings and paintings, a little bit of collage and typography, some of it reflecting stuff that happened to us at the time. Here's a spread I started when my wife got a new car last summer. Neither of us have been very happy with this spread since I did it, it was the weakest in the whole book. So today I totally changed the bottom two thirds of it, painting over the collage I'd done underneath. This will be the only thing we're changing though, the rest of it is as we did it at the time.
It's my turn to do a new spread in the book this week, and it will be my penultimate one so I'd better make it good. Duncan's previous spread was excellent so I've got to try to do one better. Wish me luck...
BTW, there's some more spreads from this book from both Duncan and myself in the book section of my website.
