are these the thumbnails you send to the editor, or just for your own use? i can't figure out how detailed to these so i end up drawing what is usually labeled "layouts". any tips?
These are just for my benefit. They're just detailed enough so I know what photo ref to shoot if I need too and where to put the lettering. I don't usually show an editor pencils even these days, unless they ask for them.
p.s. the fact that you place your own lettering doesn't seem get noticed much, but i'd say it's a very important thing, and not very often (as far as i know).
Welcome to my blog. You've probably gotten here from my website www.seanphillips.co.uk. I plan on this place being a companion piece to there, hopefully updated more often.
Every working day I'll post an example of what I've been working on that day. a favourite panel or cover or sometimes a whole page of comics.
