This cover is just perfect as it is. It's almost a shame you can't go with the rough as the iconic simplicity of the images makes it work so well, it's like a colour sumi painting.
As an aside, I landed on your blog looking for one where the blogger had inserted their own artwork as a masthead. At the risk of being cheeky can you tell me where you figured out how to do that?
As a purely amatuer artist who would love to produce work to the quality of your rough, I'm even more disheartened by how good the finished painting looked. More than anything it's the sense of design and use of space that makes it for me

I looked at the source code from someone's blog who'd changed their picture and copied that.
