The Vinyl Underground #3

Worked on a cover today. Found it a bit tricky as I couldn't find my paints. They're still in a box somewhere after our house move. Found a solitary tube of black watercolour and a rather too large brush and got stuck in anyway....
The cover will be finished digitally, this painted piece composited with some collage and colourized.

This is a really cool start Sean, necessity can definitely be the mother of invention. Sometimes I wish someone would hide all my paints but one...

Beautiful, Sean. I especially like the shading on the bent elbow and other girl's stomach. Shame it's gotta be coloured...

This reminds me of those stories of artists work taking a leap in quality because of adversity. There was that classic Nexus issue (where he sets up a chain of four murderers to off one another then pops the last one himself)done by Steve Rude in a massively parred down style due to the deadline crunch that is a personal fave and highpoint of the series.

Will,
I was just reading about that issue of Nexus in a copy of the Comics Journal #248 that arrived from ebay today. It has a big interview with the Dude, although I only bought it a for a litle article about Jorge Zaffino.
