Hellblazer 250
So, I'm drawing a story by Dave Gibbons for Hellblazer 250, over ten years since I last drew John Constantine. It's good to be back, especially with the talented Mr Gibbons. His name was all I needed to hear before agreeing to draw his story. I should have read the script first as it's a bit of a bugger... Set on New Year's Eve in the teeming crowds of London between Big Ben and Cleopatra's Needle. I took a trip to London yesterday to shoot some photo ref of the locations to find it raining after weeks of sunshine. Also, the Needle is boarded up for restoration and there are too many leaves on the trees to see much of the surrounding buildings. Still, it was only seven hours on a train, hope you appreciate it, Dave. You might owe me a pint for this...

Yay! Your Constantine is my favorite.
Heh. I was there (on NYE, I mean). Just bear in mind that it was *packed* - it literally took half an hour to walk a hundred yards along that part of the bank - and you should be fine ;)
Anthony, do you have any photos I could use for ref?
Email sent.
I loved your work on Hellblazer and this is great news! The covers especially.
"weeks of sunshine"? Maybe in Wales mate, but we haven't had more than a couple of days of sun all summer here in the south east! Looking forward to seeing it!
Gary,
I don't live in Wales no more. I moved to the Lake District where it hardly ever rains!
Wales, Lake District, Scotland, all the same to me, Sean!
Sean, don't miss Flickr as a photo reference source. you won't believe how MANY photos of anything it has.
i'm big fan of your work. Keep rockin'
Can't wait to see this issue. Love your take on Constantine.
I was going to offer some of my shots because I have some photos of the needle and around there but I see Antony sorted you out…
Actually Joel, my pics aren't that brilliant or extensive, so you should probably send yours along anyway :)
