Criterion have announced it's release, so now I can mention the DVD that they are putting out of this great film.
I was lucky enough to asked to draw the cover for the DVD and also adapt the first few scenes of the film into comic form.
Here's the cover and the first two pages... You'll have to buy the DVD if you want to see the rest.
Hey, nice blacks, as usual ..if the film is good as the pages are ,will be a great movie
ReplyDeleteIt's one of my favorite movies ever.
ReplyDeleteEd Brubaker
I've been wanting to see this since reading about it in Criminal. Thanks for bringing it to my attention and I can't wait to snag this edition.
ReplyDeleteAmazing work, I love that they're having artists do new covers for old movies at Criterion, I also saw a sci-fi one illustrated by Sienkiewicz ... I hope they keep up with that.
ReplyDeleteI might have to buy the DVD just for the Comic! You're gonna make Brubaker jealous.
ReplyDeleteWow! Love the art!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's great. What a great opportunity, to provide art for a classic DVD. Congratulations on getting such a great project and of course, doing such a great job on it.
ReplyDeleteDec.
Oh MAN, that's great work. What a gig-- well done.
ReplyDeleteHi Sean,
ReplyDeleteHow many pages did you draw but these already posted?
Great work as always!
i bet it was eric skillman who got you in to do it, wasn't it? i'm a big fan of what that guy's been doing at criterion, especially with getting all these comics-related people involved. :D
ReplyDeleteGod, Sean - you make it look so easy. Fantastic stuff as ever.
ReplyDeleteTo have Criterion release Blast of Silence and give it's proper due was exciting enough, but to toss in your artwork Sean, makes it even better!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for this disc.
