Great likenesses.

Hmm. "Likenesses". That word doesn't look right. But Google essures me it is.

love it. nice depiction of the locale too. Orson Welles has a great face to draw eh. Posted a Welles piece of my own on my blog last week.

Wow, that piece is hot! Is this gonna run in Criminal? Or was it just an inspirational piece for fun?

It will run in colour in the next issue of Criminal to illustrate an appreciation of the movie.

Be-yoo-ti-ful.

I don't think it can be said often enough that art like this (and the one accompnaying Issue #2's tribute to Out of the Past) is a great reason to get the monthly issues rather than wait for the trades.

Many monthly releases diminish the experience: I recently got the fourth collection of Gotham Central, and even a one-shot like "Lights Out" (issue #25) had more impact in the trade paperback. The reason is, the visual repetition of the Bat-Signal's being disassembled was diminished by the advertising in the monthly format. The monthly releases of Criminal is a cover-to-cover experience, and I can't wait to see Ed's take on Touch of Evil to complement that gorgeous art.

(Now, to hunt down a DVD of Out of the Past...)
