Studio Tour
Haven't done any drawing today. Been doing interviews and taking photos and writing the commentary for www.comicbookresources. I think I'm the subject of their next studio tour next week, just in time for the last issue of Marvel Zombies and the first issue of the relaunched Criminal shipping next week.

Blow Up
Forgot to post again last Friday, I'll try and remember every day from now on.
I'm deep into another issue of Criminal at the moment, but I've got a few other things bubbling away.
Recently I compiled all the surviving copies I had of the girl's comics I drew in the 80's into a hardcover book and printed myself a copy via Lulu.com so I can have a more permanent record of that early stuff. The original comics printed on newsprint are crumbling away now...
I also had an idea for another art book I want to put together as a print on demand book. I might just make one copy for myself or make it available for sale, haven't decided yet. I'll bring that copy to any cons I'm doing this year and see if there's any interest...
It will be around 300 pages, black and white hardcover with a dustjacket.

Viking!
Forgot to post yesterday, didn't really do anything worth showing anyway.
Here's a little painting I did on my DS last weekend. It's a two inch tall Viking jewellery thing from the local museum I'm using as a starting point for some paintings I'm meant to be doing in the next month or so for the local art society I've recently joined. No idea what I'm going to do with it next, I think I need to do some research into Viking history...

I bought myself a film scanner a few weeks ago and have been scanning all my old negatives and slides. Found this twenty year old photo of myself and it's one of the few of me I actually like. I haven't changed a bit!

Barbarian!
Found this photo today of an old painting I did back in the early 80's. The painting has long since been lost but I think it was in oils about A3 in size. Awful stuff, based on a photo from a body building mag. The figure on the right was swiped from a cover of Eerie or Creepy I think. Why do I keep showing you all this terrible old work? What's wrong with me, have I no shame?

I'm Back!
Well that was rather a busy month! I've drawn 56 pages and three painted covers in the last five weeks, don't wanna ever do that again.
I'm back to a more sedate pace of work now until the next deadline looms.
Criminal V2 #1 is due to press tomorrow, but I've decided to rework the cover today a little. I liked it when I first painted it, but then the covers to #2 and #3 came out so much better and made the first one look worse. I've just got to wait for this one to dry now so I can scan it later and send it off. I'm not even sure if it's any better than it was before...
