There was talk a few years ago of putting out a new edition of A Complete Lowlife, a collection of Ed Brubaker's auto bio indie comics. I was going to design the book but this was as far as I got, a rough for the cover...

Page from a short story in the 2000AD Yearbook. The on-screen lettering was done with rub-down Letraset type which has peeled off over the years.

Photo ref shot for the cover of Kid Eternity #12.
To get the double light source, I stood out in the street in the sun, took two photos facing in opposite directions and cut and pasted them together. Much easier nowadays with a couple of studio spotlights.

Here's sketches of the 12 Angry Men... Some changed before I did the final painting, but most were approved straight away.
I'll be introducing a one-off showing of the movie as part of my exhibition next month.

Reject #35
The first three pages of a planned devil-worship epic drawn when I was 13 or so. Written with my old mate David Holman, who I did the Kids From Rec Road with.
That empty panel on page three was meant to contain an interior of the vicarage. Obviously I thought it was too difficult to draw, and that was as far as we got with this story...

I didn't have a decent scan of this available for my book as the printed comic had an extra silver ink over the background and wouldn't scan well.
Luckily the owner of the original art has kindly offered to lend it to me for my upcoming exhibition at the Lakes International Comic Art Festival next month.

Only had room in the book for a couple of life paintings, and no room for any of the landscapes or seascapes I've painted.
